A Survey of Guildhall Applets Guildhall organizes its functionality into code segments call applets. Within the context of the Guildhall desktop and its desktop manager (the Filer), these applets are analogous to host applications. They are loosely categorized into five groups: Works, Tools, Games, Lore, and utilities. The Works applets (Acoustiq, Draw, Paint, Filigree, and Write) facilitate ordinary content creation. The Tools applets (Classic, Contessa, Grafiker, and Terminus) support the development of Guildhall itself. A number of games are included, some at release readiness (Seahaven Towers and Haniport Levee), some have substantial work completed (Angeline Crossing and Delvenor Beacon) and others, patterned after third party applications, are just getting started (Dungeon, Empire, and Trek). The Lore applets (Atlas, Chronology, Gamer, Orbit, and Tome) explicitly facilitate content creation related to the Fells Guild, the nation of Longwood, and the world of Tyr Pell. Finally, there are several utility applets, not pictured here (Player, Viewer, Reader, Editor, and Calc).
